Introduction

Thou shall not reveal thy true nature to those not of the Blood, Doing so shall renounce thy claims of Blood

This, the first Tradition of the Camarilla has become the most important Tradition held by the Camarilla. Its most common wording, above gives us both the instruction and also the punishment for those who would disobey this instruction. Some mention should be made here to the wording of the first line "to those not of the blood". This could be taken quite literally, that revealing the presence of vampire to the other supernatural creatures in the world would be classed as a breech. Sadly, it is rare for Kindred to be so accused, and is therefore a difficult charge to make stick. The result of this? Look to the dealings our kind actually has with the other supernatural beings, Mages, Werewolves and the Fey. Most commonly friction exists between us, and deaths are common in said dealings.

Luckily for us these creatures are rare, but imagine the chaos that would ensue if the mortals were to learn of us? Numerous and undoubtedly ingenious the mortal populace would once again hunt the Kindred as they did during the inquisition, but with the modern scientific achievements, both in weaponry and philosophy, they would not seek to destroy us with cross and stake, but armed with knowledge gained from study and observation, and weapons of destruction that we may only guess at.

This is why in these nights the masquerade is more important than ever. This document serves to state my own opinions on how it is best preserved and the tools we have at our disposal in order to do so.
