Rulership Vs Leadership

The Clan Ventrue - Traditions and History
A Treatsy by Mr Jason Faustus Scorpio

So why are the rules and Traditions important to our Clan in the future? To answer this we must look at the Rulership Vs Leadership debate. Simply put Rulership refers to the situation when a powerful individual issues orders which are obeyed, whereas Leadership involves setting an example to be followed. Where a Ruler commands, a Leader shows.

Without our structure and Traditions we can only hope to produce a line of Rulers, Powerful individuals who issue commands free from restraint. With them we can produce Leaders who conform to Clan standards, and capable of inspiring the lesser get of Caine.
