Newcastle was voted the 3rd best party city in Europe (or something like that.) and to a degree it is. The city
centre is so small that you're never more than a couple of minutes walk from the next pub or club. The Gay Scene leaves
a lot to be desired though - yes we have a few pubs, but we only have one nightclub, and it plays on it's monopoly.
Prices are high and the music is the same no matter what night you go. If you've read my
Music page you'll know what sort of music I'm into, so I go to places like Snakebite and Black (
http://www.snakebiteandblack.co.uk/ ) which plays Goth and alternative 80's, although even it is being taken over by the cyber-dance Goth shoite that seems
to be taking over the world. If you want some information on the gay scene in newcastle then have a look at
http://newcastlegayscene.co.uk . For some more info on Newcastle then I found this page from a sister city - Atlanta, why not have a look?
http://www.ci.atlanta.ga.us/sister/NewCastle/Newcastle.htm . And if you're planning to visit then there's loads of info on this site about going out, eating, and where to
stay, plus history and stuff on this website:
